The worst, most unpersuasive brand of criticism of elected officials is “Politician hasn’t delivered on everything they promised to do after being in office for a few months.” By this measure, every President, NY Governor, NY Mayor, and Congressional Rep in my adult life has been a failure.
Overpromising is a staple of campaigning. Any political observer or writer who treats statements on the campaign trail these days as literal promises rather than ambitions deserves one of those “Fell for it Again” awards.
So, everybody does it so it's ok when we do it? He's walking back MANY items is the problem. I know three people who voted for him who are furious. Not so with most politicians. Add to the fact that his politicies are all totally unworkable and known failures however I'm glad he's not moving forward with them. But I don't live there. If I were rich I wouldn't care, which is probably why his greatest support are the children of the wealthy. Like all socialists.
