Might there be evidence that people vote with their feet? Hard to imagine NYC population changes had nothing to do with crime. Comparing voting across election cycles doesn’t measure that,

Yeah, that's how docility is maintained in the American electorate. Convince them to be afraid of crime, regardless of whether it's going up or down, and the fact that the US already has the highest incarceration rate in the world and yet the overwhelming political message is "Let's do what we're already doing... but harder!"
Americans are controlled and kept obedient through the non stop coordinated Epstein-class captured media feeding the public a never ending dose of fear and a declaration of who is to blame.
Probably more like cynicism than forgiveness. Defunding police was a Republican agenda until the Dems grabbed it in 2016. Here in Spokane we've had back and forth mayors for 20 years, and crime remains solidly and constantly terrible. Neither side wants to improve life for normal people. Both parties are working for the billionaires.

You will not be able to do so. And cherry-picking a couple of local GOP officials who cut police budgets alone demonstrates absolutely nothing,unless you can provide evidence that fewer Dem local pols did so.
