Join your local political club and get involved in the candidates they endorse. The clubs are influential in local politics and they are open to everyone.

Such a party would need to galvanize moderates (if that's not a contradiction in terms) in ways that no candidate has managed in the last three NYC mayoral elections (or DAs, or comptroller, or "public advocate," or numerous Council races). Is there a good model for this, other than self-financed campaigns in severe periods by Bloomberg and Lurie in San Francisco?
